"Cigarette smoking is dangerous to your health" can be read in many cigarette boxes and labels. Obviously, people associate the health risks of smoking to health problems such as lung cancer and other forms of cancer, respiratory diseases, coronary heart disease, and stroke. Really, if it poses such grave risks, who would even associate it with something as seemingly inconsequential as snoring?
Every one of us including especially smokers knows that smoking is very dangerous to our health. It has many side effects on your health and the health of those around you, for exemple:
- Cancer of Lung:
With advancing years cancer of the lungs becomes a serious health hazard because of smoking. Just as spitting of blood in younger age needs to be investigated for tuberculosis, in older age group it needs to be investigated for cancer of lung as well.
- There are two kinds of strokes:
hemorrhagic and ischemic. The hemorrhagic stroke is the more dangerous of the two. Smoking damages the blood vessels of the brain which may already be weakened by high blood pressure. Weakened blood vessels can rupture and bleed, which increases the risk of hemorrhagic stroke.
- Digestive system:
Smoking causes heart burn ,delays healing of peptic ulcers, increases risk of crohn's disease and formation of gall stones. It affects liver and increases chances of stomach cancer.
- Skin :
Due to smoking the skin is deprived of oxygen and it loses its texture. An average smoker looks 5 years older than his healthy non smoking counterparts. The skin loses its healthy glow and takes on a yellowish-gray cast. The more cigarettes smoked, the worse skin will look. Wrinkles start appearing very quickly as smoking affects elastic tissues of skin.
Really if you love your life and want to live longer, please stop smoking now :)
