, the meaning of diet has grown to include the "kind and amount of food prescribed for a person or animal for a special reason" and "a regimen of eating and drinking sparingly so as to reduce one's weight."
In nutrition, diet is the sum of food consumed by a person.Dietary habits are the habitual decisions an individual or culture makes when choosing what foods to eat.
What's the best way to diet?
- Don't give yourself room to cheat. A truly successful workout and diet plan has no middle ground. You might want to have a cheat meal or skip a workout on a rough day, but it is a slippery slope. You might know this from experience.
Working out every day of the week makes it a habit, and habits are hard to break. And the longer your habit's been around, the stronger it is. Same thing for your diet. If go easy on yourself once, it could be devastating to your progress. When you're starting out (first 90 days), momentum is critical, and to have maximum momentum you cannot cheat at all.
- People have different ideas as to the best way to diet out there. For instance, a young man might tell you that the best way to diet is through lots of exercise and strength training, while a young woman might tell you it's through mild exercise and watching what you eat.
- If you are really having difficulty in doing a kick start for your diet, what you can do is start small first and then gradually intensify your diet. Losing weight takes a lot of patience because this is not something that you can easily achieve overnight. Do not torture yourself by changing our food intake in just one day. Adjust your eating habits slowly each and everyday. This way, you would not feel too pressured.
